The Residents (Shijja)
In the future, when the human colonists set out for other planets, they discovered Gerou, a habitable planet just smaller than Earth, perfect for them. But there was one problem, the planet already had a sentient Species living there. The Shijja, while tribal and not as advanced as the Humans, let the colonists stay in exchange for knowledge. But not all agreed to this, so tribes of the nocturnal species hunted them. It soon became known that their bites were infections, taking over the human bitten and changing them to the hive mind of the Shijja. Those converted hated the colonists with a passion, killing those they were told to without pause. Because of this, they are formidable opponents and are often referred to as The Residents, in a derogatory term.
The Kator
A powerful empire from the 26nd Century, one that is in blood feud with the Eldern. Arin fought on the front line, protecting his city Askavii from their attack. They have control over most of the Owlen System, raging war with their machines. One in particular is the Nova ship, a vehicle designed to destroy cities. The Kator are feared throughout the Human colonies, but are forced to confine their power to the Owlen System as a step outside of it would breach their contract with the Hegemony and council. They are known as a violent people with unpredictable tempers.
